Synopsis: In 1909, Korean resistance leader Ahn Jung-geun faces doubts about his loyalty after an attack that resulted in the deaths of many of his comrades. Refusing to execute Japanese prisoners, Ahn decides to assassinate Itō Hirobumi, former Prime Minister of Japan, to fight for Korea’s independence. He assembles a team to carry out the assassination during Itō’s train journey to Harbin. After confronting betrayals, ambushes, and the loss of explosives, the team uses a covert operation to identify an informant. At the decisive moment, Ahn manages to shoot Itō at the railway station, proclaiming Korean independence before being captured. The assassination triggers profound consequences, and Ahn is hanged in 1910. Despite the defeat, his struggle inspires new freedom fighters, symbolizing Korean resistance against Japanese occupation.
